Why a Longhorn? An Ode to Rose

WHY A LONGHORN?
An Ode to Rose + Meet Our New Girl, Mulberry!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve had a lot of questions about the logo and why I chose a longhorn. My family raises Black Angus, Charolais, and also has Corriente cattle but several years ago, we decided to do something fun for our girls and start a small longhorn herd. The money that we’d make out of their babies, we put back in their college fund. Plus they are so fun to look at. 😂 (que eye roll from husband)

Rose was our first girl and gave me so much inspiration that I decided to make her the face of my store. Little did I know that she would birth a t-shirt line and end up being our entire branding. We lost her about a year and a half ago and now we have a couple other girls to produce longhorn calves for us but we will always love this gal. She will forever have a place in my shop- and she does, as her horns now hang above my checkout counter. If you ever get to visit, you’ll be seeing the OG rose of Farm Girl. I’ll be sharing that photo on Monday. ❤

However, our new look and what you see on our branding now is Miss Mulberry, a new registered mama we picked up last August and she’s just as pretty! You’ll be seeing her from now on in our feed and stories from time to time. She’s even in tomorrow’s post in action with our Longhorn Express shipping and you aren’t even ready for that. 😍 Talia killed it and probably my favorite thing she’s ever drawn for me.

Hope that explains our logo and small story behind it! Two more sleeps until our big news!
