Anniversary Weekend

Anniversary Weekend

We spent our 5 year anniversary tucked away in the woods. It was the most relaxing get away we’ve ever had and definitely our favorite anniversary trip thus far. We booked this gorgeous cabin for a two night stay in Broken Bow.It was absolutely gorgeous and cozy. They literally thought of everything from cooking utensils, board games, extra blankets, soap, laundry detergent, etc. I loved that they decorate the cabins for Christmas too. They had a journal in the living room area where guests would sign and talk about their stay. So neat to see where everyone came from. We grabbed groceries on our way down and brought steaks to grill for our Anniversary dinner. For lunch, we went to The Grateful Head Pizza and it was amazing and such a unique atmosphere. We toured Hochatown and I really wanted to bring this guy back with us for a front porch greeter. We spent most of our time watching movies by the fire, in the hot tub when it was 15 degrees outside, and just enjoying each others company. Zack made us a fire on our first night so we could have smores.I can’t wait to go back. It was nice to get a way  from everything and just get back to us. We talked about how much life we’ve gone through over the last 5 years and where we wanted to be or try to accomplish over the next 5-10-and 20. I’m so thankful for my husband and best friend. He makes this life so sweet and blesses me more than I can say. Thank you for this trip, babe. You love me so well and I’m constantly amazed at how God has written this love story. Love you to Heaven.

Zack’s New Adventure

Zack’s New Adventure

12439423_10153396093765685_2125052233087506493_nI am so excited to finally share that Zack landed his dream job and got hired at our local fire department! After a long process (since November) of interviews, physical tests, etc. he was called and accepted the offer. He actually got the call on the night he graduated from the Fire Academy back in January but his start date began April 4th.  A big prayer answered for us and we are so thankful for this blessing. I am so excited to see where his career takes him. He absolutely loves what he does and has the biggest servants heart. He truly cares for others and I know will go far as a fireman.

Our town’s Rotary Club has an annual pancake fry fundraiser with the fire department and it fell on his first week of work (April 6th.) Paisley was so excited to see where daddy worked and was hoping Sparky the dalmatian would be there. I love that our department is so family friendly. The kids got to take their pictures on the trucks and old wagon and Paisley kept telling me that her daddy was at the station now because he is a “fighter fighter.”

Fire Academy Graduation

Fire Academy Graduation

After months of hard work, determination, home work, tests, physical trials, stress, and much more, my sweet husband has graduated from the Fire Academy! IMG_2853 IMG_2840He put in so much hard work and I am so proud of him. Last night we got to witness him accept his diploma and it was such a rewarding experience. We love you so much, Zack! Thank you for all you do for our family. We are so excited to start this new journey with you. And, I’m pretty excited to be a firefighter wife. ;)

Most photos are from Southwind mixed in with a few that I took. :)

Wednesday night, Zack and I snuck off to celebrate our anniversary at Southwind Hills. I had a Pursuit Group there months back and completely fell in love with the place. They just opened up a little cottage not too long ago and when I saw the ad on Facebook I booked it on a whim. They usually have it on the weekends for couples who get married but they also book it during the week to the public. We were their first weekday couple. Christmas season is such a stressful + busy time at the store, not to mention Zack is almost finished with fire school and applying for a job. We don’t see much of each other lately and to say we needed some “us” time is an understatement. 12309728_988849331173980_7539486767514218340_oThe cottage is nestled off away from their wedding venue in a wooded area. Seriously so gorgeous. I won’t ramble on too long and let the photos speak for themselves. The vision I have for my home would seriously be decorated like this space. Wood planks, white walls, chandeliers, rustic meets glam. 12316207_988845104507736_3515822330194951546_n12341341_988846331174280_6065500426737171344_n12313601_988846094507637_1989216814981535482_nDSC_0100DSC_011012366482_988845801174333_283352343351989270_n12341391_988847631174150_8671026803223120270_n12321155_988847707840809_808630963308283579_n12362679_988845204507726_6717012872067866428_o12314660_988847934507453_6303298839661121654_o12310689_988845874507659_2133153689446430517_n12362770_988847911174122_3738803046175789889_o12359998_988847374507509_2428466565829386122_n12363095_988847237840856_4648415725237583336_oHello Pioneer Woman dishes. I ordered these last week and actually got to test them out here. We spent the rest of the day enjoying each other in Norman. Lunch was at a favorite spot we frequent, we finished up our Christmas shopping, and had kid free conversations. It was the perfect day with my man.

My Fire Bug

My Fire Bug

I know the Mr. doesn’t get a ton of exposure here because it’s always Paisley and Scout spam so I wanted to do a little update on the hubs. After a lot of decision making and praying he decided to take a leap of faith and finally begin his journey to become a firefighter. In July, he was accepted in the academy where we live and they started classes last week. I am so proud of him and cannot wait to see him in gear.

They have a little Facebook group where his instructors post photos of them during the day so I thought I would share.11226187_902692993131147_6597642029221717211_o11838634_902692949797818_5311666174092200408_o 11845231_901522946581485_427852999456924714_o 11879244_902692876464492_1493888433308774945_oIt’s been a huge change around our house but it won’t be for long. He has a lot of home work and his days are pretty strenuous. There is so much more to being a fireman than I realized. He graduates in January and we are hoping and praying that he is hired right out here in our community after.

I love you, babe. Thank you for working so hard for our family. I am so proud of you!
