We celebrated our big girl turning 5 two weeks ago with a fun Junie B. Jones themed party! Paisley LOVES Junie B. and we have been reading them together before bed most nights. I loved them as a little girl and have enjoyed the opportunity to share many giggles with my girls because of this spunky and hilarious kindergarten kid.
This party was a little harder to throw together because there isn’t much Junie B. out there. I referenced her website for some cute coloring sheets and activities, pulled ideas from the books, and went from there. Paisley is really into art right now so I made the party centered around school and loved how it came together.
Her invites turned out so cute! I love using little sayings from the books for details.
Most of the decor I pulled from my store such as the desks and banners. Each guest got to take a book and book marker home for their party favor. If you have read the books at all, you know that Junie B’s class is Room Nine. I loved using my Letterfolk Co. board for decoration because it reminded me of when we had them for class photos in elementary. 
One of the things I love about Junie B. is her outfit choices. In the books she is wearing a skirt, mismatched colors, and of course her glasses. I wanted Paisley to have something that looked similar to wear on her day. I’ll link the outfit details at the end of the post. Paisley wears glasses everyday so I love that she has that in common with the character. Each guest got a pair of purple glasses to wear and take home as well.
My friend Chelsea with Scribbles Bakery made all of our deserts and knocked them out of the park as usual. The cookies were so adorable and delicious. We had pencils, composition notebooks, school busses, pokla dots, glasses, and books.
We had strawberry and chocolate cake. So good! I pulled quotes from Paisley’s favorite books and had them made into printables, used $2 frames and painted them with Junk Gypsy Paint, and framed them for the cake table to use as decoration.
And little sister had fun with the glasses too. Those expressions!
Since Paisley absolutely LOVES art, a paint party was a must for this school theme. At the front of the table was a list of characters from the series and they picked which one they wanted to paint. I had the table set up with easels, pallets, canvases, and smocks for the kids. 
They also got a sack lunch and “grade A juice” to eat and drink after they painted.
While we waited for guests to arrive, the kids got to color their own Junie B. Birthday cake. You can find them on juniebjones.com for free to print.
And then when everyone arrived they put on smocks and started painting. I think they loved it!
Then it was lunch time. An easy throw-together sack luck with sandwiches, goldfish, and an apple.
And then we had cake, cookies, punch, sang to our big five year old and opened presents!
And then we had “picture day” set up from the book “Junie B. Jones has a Monster Under Her Bed.” Paisley loves the part about the “cheese man.”
She has the sweetest little friends and we had so much fun getting together for our girl! This party was just too fun!

I wanted the theme to be laid back, simple, and sweet. Obviously, we love us some Farmer’s Market. I thought it would be a really fun party to plan and do-and it was! I got to be really creative and think outside of the box. We had most of the adult’s food and drinks on the back patio but the kids stuff was all sectioned together outside.
One of our deserts was mason jar strawberry shortcake that was super easy to make ahead of time and store. Below it on the shelf was homemade grape jelly for the adult guests to take home. I loved being able to incorporate something that I enjoy doing into the party. And who wants to turn down homemade jelly? 
Our little “sandwich wagon” had the meal and fixin’s for guests to come grab as well as our mini mason jar sippers for the kids to drink. They got to take those home with them as well.
We had homemade Italian cream cake (Nana’s special) with apple and cherry pies. The cake stand that the pie is on was my Nana’s grandmothers. I LOVE family heirloom pieces. I used a lot of burlap and mason jars that I had laying around my house to decorate with. I have an abundance of jars and probably need an intervention with my collection.
The kid’s table was fun and they really enjoyed the coloring sheets.
After all of the shopping excitement we had apple bobbing and the kids absolutely enjoyed it! It was so fun watching them (and a couple of adults) bob.
My grandparents have an old teeter totter that we also had in the yard for play. So fun!
