Happy Birthday, Farm Girl!

September 30, 2015

FG-birthday-4I am finally blogging about our One Year Birthday at Farm Girl. We celebrated on THE day-September 18, 2015- which made it even more special. It’s been a year full of learning, new friendships, lots of fun, stress, tears, laughs, prayer and much more. I am so thankful to be able to do what I love and even more blessed with a God, family, and friends who support my dreams.
We opened up at 10 AM with people waiting for the door to open. I was absolutely surprised and humbled at the response to our party. So exciting and so fun! My sweet friends Aubrey, Jess, and Lindsay as well as my mom, aunt, and hubby all helped me prep days before the big event. There is no way I could have gotten everything done without them. Not to mention others who pop in when needed (looking at you Amy) <—-She’s our Ada Main Street girl. I am sure there our countless others who helped so please forgive me if I haven’t mentioned you. Our windows are always a stressful task for me. They are nice and large and make awesome advertisement for those who drive and walk by. We always try to pick a theme, plan, and then decorate. This fall we chose a fall/pumpkin patch and a “back to school” theme. It’s so inspiring to watch them come to life. FG-birthday-11We wanted the party to start as soon as you walked in, making the cake table our focal point. I love how it turned out. The cake was absolutely delicious, as were the donuts. 🙂 I spent weeks on ordering new merchandise and re-decorating the store. I love how it all came together.
Sadie was a huge helper that day and our official door greeter. She loved holding Scout and walking around talking with customers and showing them “cute” merchandise. I told Jess we were adding her to Farm Girl payroll. Ha! We sat up Aubrey Lisa Photography a new section with a screen that plays her wedding, lifestyle and birth videos all day. People absolutely love to see her work!
We also made Jess a new little section with this mini spool. I love how it turned out and the new fall line was a hit! It was a long day but such a blessing. We got to see old and new faces, hug the necks of those who keep our business open, and reap the harvest of months and months of work. I can’t thank those of you who support this dream enough. The good days always outweigh the stressful ones and this, this was a really good day. I pray for more plentiful years at this sweet space.

Thankful to be a Farm Girl.

Wedding Weekending

September 28, 2015

IMG_0298

This weekend was a whirlwind. Zack’s best friend and the girl’s Godfather got married and the wedding was absolutely beautiful! We are so happy for him and Shannon. We started the wedding fun Thursday night with rehearsal dinner and a murder mystery party for the bachelor/bachelorette party. It was a blast at this little bed and breakfast in Guthrie! I didn’t have time to find an outfit but we are having a party with our life group in November so I will do a whole post on that when the time comes.

Where has time gone? Three whole months! T H R E E. This little booger is growing so fast it seems as if she changes over night. Life with her and sister bear has been so much fun. I can’t believe I am writing about another month of milestones for this growing little wildflower.

oh, miss Scout
She is the sweetest babe. I love her little demeanor, when she smiles its all over her face. Her eyes light up, she can move those brows like no other, and starts to kick and flail her little arms. This month she has hit a HUGE growth spurt. This little flower is is just blossoming. Second babies grow up much faster than firsts. She sleeps a good 8-9 hours at night which I am praising the Lord for. He has blessed us with good sleeping girls. She has also found her hands. I don’t think she will love the paci as much as her sister did. When she is almost out for bedtime she will spit it out and replace it with her fingers. Bad habit, but so darn cute.
She LOVES her swing, the hanging elephant on her carseat, her fan in the nursery, sleeping, bath time, cuddling, and me rocking her to sleep.

Please ignore my lack of sleep an no makeup. Scout’s Jammies//Farm Girl

We are on somewhat of a routine now. With her going to work with me daily, we have a good little schedule down. She may be the only one in our home with a schedule at the moment. She wakes about 6:30/7:00 to eat. After, I will get her dressed and lay her down for a little catnap while sister and I get ready. We |try| to leave the house by 9:00 to take Paisley to daycare, grab a quick breakfast, run to the bank, and then open up the store. She eats around 11:00 and then takes her big nap for the day in her swing. When she wakes (usually after a good 3 hour nap) she eats again and then we play for about an hour. Daddy picks her up and they grab sister from daycare while I close up the store. We have dinner around 7 and then its playtime. The girls have baths at 8:30 and are in bed asleep (at least one of them) by 9:00. She is such a rockstar sleeper. Most always will she sleep through the night with a good 9 hours of sleep.

E A T: Girlfriend doesn’t miss a meal. She L O V E S to eat. We have had some trouble with formula but I think she is finally getting adjusted to Gerber Gentle. She loves to grab my fingers and scrunch her little toes while she eats and it’s the cutest ever.

P L A Y: She is cooing a lot and on the brink of giggling. She loves it when we all make silly faces at her. At the store she loves it when her and I will talk to one another. She starts to smile and will half giggle. I absolutely love this stage and cannot wait for full on baby giggles. She loves tummy time, pretty colors and lights. Zack played some Baby Einstein for her the other day and it got her attention really quick.

S L E E P: We have a tummy sleeper. I know this isn’t the normal but she loves it. She has awesome head control and will sleep all night on her stomach. We have a video monitor on her at night and she has done great. She will occasionally sleep on her back but will wake within an hour or so of sleeping. As previously mentioned, she will sleep at least 8-9 hours and are we oh so thankful for it.

This girl continues to amaze us. She is the most laid back little thing and we love her to pieces. Paisley adores her and has been the best helper with her. Each day I feel as if she has grown over night. Time goes so quickly with the second little babe and I am cherishing every little moment, diaper change, and smile.

Happy 3 months, Scout!
