We celebrated the 4th on July 3rd this year at our friend’s house because Zack had to work on the fourth. A big cookout with our lifegroup, swimming, and fireworks for the kids. We had so much fun and the girls really enjoyed it. On the fourth Zack was on duty but was able to play in Ada’s annual 4th of July Softball game against the Police Department. This year they let the city public works play and Oklahoma Highway Patrol. It was so fun to watch and a neat tradition. The girls got to play with Bull and all of the other fire station kiddos. And that was about the extent of our day. The girls and I tried to stay cool and ended up taking ZO a big tub of banana pudding to the station. We hope you had a wonderful holiday and are so very thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed it all for our freedom and safety.
When your birthday falls on Father’s Day, sometimes you just have to throw the two events together and have a big family party. We decided this year to not do a big birthday party because it is too much to try to get everyone together twice along with the fact that I’ve learned that you don’t always need a huge party to have fun.Scout is donut obsessed so I decided to order a fun birthday cake, have presents, and let the kids play in the water. Keeping it simple this year like we did with Paisley’s party made it so much more enjoyable. We had family over for father’s day and I whipped up Pioneer Woman pulled pork for sandwiches, cowboy beans, and potato salad. You can find the pulled pork in her Dinner Time Cookbook but I’ll try to share the recipe soon as well as how I prep to save time. I’ve made it on so many occasions now I can probably do it in my sleep! HA! My mom also made homemade ice cream. She got so many cute things and we are so blessed with how loved our girl is. Her cake was a hit and so good! I think Scout had a great day and it was nice to enjoy it with family! I caught this hilarious moment on camera as she was blowing out her candles. Eye roll on point! This diva gives us a run for our money. She didn’t want anyone to sing to her.
Thank you for all of the birthday wishes for our girl!

Today our baby girl turns three. What a joy she has been to our family. Scout has such a sweet, spunky, and loving spirit about her. She constantly makes us laugh with her humor and quick wit. She acts so much older than she is and is extremely smart and kind.
When she came along I wasn’t sure how well I could mother two little girls but she’s made it so easy. She completes our little family. She’s quite the mama’s girl but loves her daddy big! Fire station visits on shift days are her favorite. She is such a unique blend of the both of us but at the same time is her own person. And I love that so much! She loves her big sister and wants to be just like her. Some of her favorite things currently are: Peppa Pig, playing beauty shop, getting fixed up in hair, make up, and twirly dresses, strawberries, watermelon, and gardening with her Grand. I’ve never seen a girl who loves accessories as much as she does. She’s my little shopping buddy. She’s always telling me how much she loves me or how beautiful I am. She can make a bad day perfect in a minute. You can expect to find her right next to me putting on “lips” while we get ready in the mornings.Scout, I pray you know how much you are loved! It’s an honor to be your mama and I hope that you always know who you are and who’s you are. That you always look to Jesus and keep him in your heart. I pray that your Dad and I lead you girls well. I’m so thankful you are mine. Happy third birthday, baby girl! I hope this year is the best yet.
