I’m finally getting around to sharing the girl’s Maileg doll house we had made for them for Christmas a few years ago. I’ve had several questions about it here and there so I wanted to do a blog post as their collection has grown with each holiday and birthday. We had this dollhouse locally made and parts of my old bookcase were used to build it like the chimney you’ll see on the right side.

Other than their horses, this is probably still their most played with item in their playroom. Every Christmas, Zack and I will add a piece or two to their stockings and they have so much fun designing rooms, pretend play, changing outfits, etc. We LOVE Maileg. The quality of their toys are unmatched. These items I’ll be packing up and saving for our grand babies one day.

The house was again, custom built and several pieces from my old bookcase were used to add special touches. Scrapbook paper was used for some of the wallpaper and special details like the photo frames, bead board, and a few furniture pieces were found on Etsy and Hobby Lobby. Maileg also has their own houses for sale, but I was needing a large piece for their space and new that they would want to grow their collection for years to come when we started to buy these so I went ahead and had a large one made. I’m so glad we did!

The highchair with the large bunny in it was mine growing up. My mom had found it along with a cradle, the old bookcase linked above, and a small table with chairs at a flea market that we kept and handed down to the girls. I love that we can keep passing these down and would much rather invest in items that hold their value.

There are SO many Maileg inspired accounts that have houses I’ve drawn inspiration from that you can find on instagram. I’ve also bought most all of these Maileg pieces from their site and small mom and pop retailers. If your kiddos have a set up, tag me! I’d love to see it.
