A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was create
A year later, this week, I’m finally sharing our 10 year anniversary road trip to Wyoming and Montana. This is probably, hands down, my favorite trip I’ve been on with Zack. It was one of the best weeks of my life. We had SO much fun and I’m wishing we were there to celebrate the first week of fall again. The most beautiful country.
We wanted to do something big for our 10 year anniversary so we decided to go to the two places we love and were interested in the most. We drove to save money but also so we could stop at fun places along the way. One of those being The Battle of Little Big Horn which was incredible.
Before the battlefield though, we drove half way for us and stayed in Sheridan, Wyoming which we ended up falling in love with. The town was like Mayberry. Small, everyone knows everyone, close knit, supportive, and so fun to experience. We loved it so much, we came back to stay on our way home at the end of the trip. Some of our favorite stops:
We drove the last half to Kalispell, MT and all I can say is that this land is gorgeous. Near Glacier which was one of our planned adventures. One of our Bucket List items is to visit all of the National Parks one day. We wanted to stay close enough to drive to the park but loved this old town. I found these grain silos for rent from Clark Farm Silos and it was such a cool experience to stay in.
If you are ever in Kalispell, you have to visit Norm’s. It’s an old style soda shop with amazing shakes and burgers. There really are no words for how gorgeous Glacier National Park is. I love getting to experience nature untouched. We hiked a little but one day isn’t enough to see it. The park is so huge. We didn’t get to go up to see the glaciers like we wanted to I suggest spending more than one day.
The next day we met with Elsa Eileen Photography and had some anniversary pictures shot to celebrate 10 years. We shot a lot at the Silos and then at a sweet family’s home who ended up turning into a friend for me. It’s funny how God works different people into your life when you least expect it. We used their horse for some of our photos and ended up following each other on social and have talked weekly since.
Elsa was a dream to work with and these are some of my favorite photos of Zack and I. I’ll cherish them forever.
We drove a little ways to Whitefish and also loved that community. It’s so beautiful. We had some amazing Mexican food and also ate at a great pizza place. If we go back one day, we would love to stay in this area.
After a few days in Montana, we decided to head back to Wyoming to enjoy the last leg of our vacation. We hiked the Bighorn Mountains which were beautiful! We saw so much country, tracked a bull elk, and explored Sheridan more. This was so much fun and I loved this part of our trip.
This was one of the best trips of my life. I loved every second of it. We had so much time to talk, experience new things together, and just be without rush. It was so special and such a fun way to ring in 10 years of marriage. It seems like we were just there but it’s already been a year and now nearing number 11 for us. If you have the chance, I highly recommend road tripping it north west. Huge thank you to my husband for taking me. Adventures with you are the best.
