Over Spring Break, I took Paisley on her first library trip. We had been planning a little day date for awhile and she was so excited to get a “library credit card.”
Our public library is just a block from my store. I had been prepping her about the “rules” in this very quiet place. She did amazing and I think was a little overwhelmed when we got in there at how many books there really was.
We had a discussion on responsibility and that when you check them out you have to take extra special care of them since they are not ours. She understood that when we borrow and read them, we get to return and check out more. I thought she may have a hard time understanding since we do buy a lot of books but she thought this was even better.
I enjoyed re-living my childhood with her. I would come here often as a little girl with my mom and not much had changed other than more books and activities to do. I loved the familiar smell and had to make sure one of my most checked out and read books was still in its usual spot. And to my surprise, it was!
She scoped out a few titles that really caught her her eye. And we made it out of there with three books to read. I will be keeping her at the store before she starts pre-k this fall so I am really excited to have this as a convenient little spot to frequent. They have neat activities, story times, crafts, etc. all summer that I can’t wait to sign her up for.
After books, we went on our first snow cone date of the year and even took daddy one.
