Two months already? Time is such a vapor. It can’t be almost 9 weeks since we brought this precious bundle home! This little one is so much fun. I am loving all of the new stages that this past month has brought. So many feels for this mama bear.

We had her two month appointment today and this girl has definitely packed on the pounds.
Scout at TWO months
Weight: 12 pounds 9 ounces (60th percentile)
Height: 22 3/4 inches (60th percentile)
Clothes: 0-3 Months // goodbye newborn :(
Diapers: Honest Size 1
This appointment, we didn’t have any questions or concerns. She had a bowel issue at our last visit that we were monitoring but since has cleared up. Praising the Lord for healing! We had to get her 2 month (1st round) of shots and she took them like a champ! It just so happened to be time to eat so we had shots and immediately began to feed which resulted in minimal crying. :) Her regular pediatrician was back from vacation so I was so relieved to finally have Dr. Q look her over. He’s the best!

E A T: She loves meal time. :) Eating every 3-4.5 hours depending on how long naps are and how long she stays awake after she eats. Since I was unable to breastfeed and make little to none of a supply, Scout is on formula. We recently switched to see if it would make a difference in gas and so far it has but the diapers are a little crazy. I am very picky on the bottles I use. I LOVE glass. There is just something about glass that makes me feel like it’s cleaner and completely sterile. I use Lifefactory. I started using them with Paisley and we absolutely love them. My Grand bought us another large pack as a shower gift for Scout. They have a silicone shell that the bottle slides into so if you happen to drop it, the shell will protect it and keep it from shattering. I am living proof because we have concrete floors and I’ve done it dozens of times already. You can get them here.

She smiled and grinned for the first time this month. It was the sweetest little thing and she is doing it all of the time now. Melts my mama heart and can completely turn my day around. Funny how little babes can change your whole day’s perspective. :)

Jammies // previously worn by Paisley from Carters

She isn’t a huge fan of the paci which can be good and bad. We have been catching her sucking on her hands from time to time and immediately try to substitute the paci. We can take them away but not fingers. :)

P L A Y: Not a lot of play exactly but you can tell she is super alert and knows her surroundings. She gets really excited when Zack and I talk to her and starts to flail her arms and kick her legs while grinning and cooing. It’s pretty much the sweetest ever. She will be rolling over and crawling before we know it. She is great at lifting up her head while she is on her tummy. We play a lot at the store. She is the best little work buddy and spends a lot of time in our Solly Wrap.

This little onesie was Paisley’s. Making my mama heart skip a beat when I get to experience this a second time.

S L E E P: She is now sleeping through the night (we don’t have to wake her any longer to eat) and loves her crib! We usually get her laid down around 8:30-9 after she eats and gets a bath and she is out until around 6:00! SO. T H A N K F U L. We still swaddle at night but she is getting to the point where she doesn’t like to be held tightly so we will probably ditch the blankets soon and just sleep in jams only. She is a hot natured little thing (just like the rest of us) so that probably adds to not loving being snug and warm.

Her room is still one of my favorite spots in the house besides Paisley’s-we love to play kitchen and be princesses in there. What’s more fun than that? I love to sit and rock right before bedtime. I also love to grab a notebook and brainstorm ideas for Farm Girl. For some reason I get a ton of inspiration in that little space.

IMG_8775Still not hip on bath time but we are getting there. :) She loves the water on her tummy but doesn’t enjoy getting her hair washed. Must be a sister thing. Paisley is the exact same way.

She went to her first market last week for Farm Girl and was so good! Already teaching her how to shop. :)

She loves to nap in our room and usually on Sundays she and I will snuggle for a couple of hours.

Scout, I can’t believe how fast time is going by. You are such a joy and I am soaking up all of the little moments with you and your sister. I love all of your little facial expressions and when you grin at me, it melts me like butter. I see so much of your daddy and Paisley in you but then I think you have your own little look to you. I cannot wait to see what month three will bring with all of the milestones and first you will hit. You are such a blessing and we all love you to pieces my sweet girl.

Baby Wearing

IMG_8578This weekend I finally whipped out my Solly Baby Wrap to give it a try. I bought this in hopes that I would actually use it-I’ve seen dozens of moms swear by it but I thought it was just another fad. We had bought Paisley one to wear so we could match and once I tried mine on she had to go get hers. :) She loves being a little momma.

Let me just say, baby wearing is the real deal. It’s your extra set of arms you always need. I didn’t think Scout would enjoy it but she goes right to sleep when she’s fussy and I need to get things done. She’s nestled in it as I’m typing. I can seriously multitask like nobody’s business. I had bought it mainly to wear at Farm Girl since Scout goes with me but I will be using it just as much at home.

I know there are many carriers out there but I really enjoy this one for three reasons:

  1. It isn’t hot. I know a lot of carriers have thick material. I feel like 99% of the time I am sweating as it is with caring for a baby and chasing a toddler. I don’t feel like I’m wearing a back pack.
  2. It’s comfortable-like wearing clothing. It’s super flexible and there are many ways you can wrap for comfort with baby.
  3. She can grow with it. Like mentioned above, there are many ways to wrap with Solly. As they get older you can wrap differently. They have great tutorial videos on how to wrap correctly depending on age. I watched this one during my first time wrapping and got it down in no time.

I love the flexibility it gives me to be able to work and care for Paisley as well.
IMG_8421I loved these pros of using Solly that I found on their website:

JUST A FEW REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD WEAR YOUR LITTLE ONE IN A SOLLY BABY WRAP:

  • It’s one of the best and easiest ways to promote bonding with your baby and can even help reduce postpartum depression.
  • It’s a lifesaver! It gives you your hands back while keeping your baby close.
  • Helps to calm even the fussiest babies, especially babies with reflux or gas. A study found in Pediatrics found that wearing your infant 3 hours a day reduces infant crying by 43%!
  • Solly Baby Wraps provide a womb-like environment for baby that makes them feel secure, safe, and comfortable.
  • Solly Baby Wraps distribute the weight evenly all over your upper body so it won’t tug on your shoulders or back and it naturally distributes baby’s weight correctly as well, without putting extra pressure on baby’s joints and spine like most carriers do.

IMG_8405If you’ve been on the fence about Solly, I highly recommend getting one. It’s worth every penny. They fold up nicely to throw in the diaper bag or your purse and easily clean up in the washing machine.

I will continue to update our wearing adventures as she gets older to share with you. For general questions go to their website. When I was researching they had great information and answered all of my questions. They have cute colors and patterns-mine is the Marsala. :)

Worth the Wait

scout-lifestyle-home-web-107I had so much fun at our lifestyle shoot with Aubrey. We had to snap a couple of photos in one of my favorite onesies. I bought this from Urban Baby Co. during the middle of my pregnancy-one of the first items we purchased for little miss. Such a true statement and adorable addition to her wardrobe.
scout-lifestyle-home-web-100scout-lifestyle-home-web-104scout-lifestyle-home-web-119scout-lifestyle-home-web-121She was definitely worth the wait. I know many times, we tend to complain about the “waiting” and uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms but the wait is so worth it. I am so thankful for her health and that she is perfectly and wonderfully made. :) You are so loved, baby girl.
