Yesterday was a special day for our little Cowgirl. Paisley has been in love with horses since she knew what one was. It makes my heart pitter patter knowing that she has such a deep love for them like her mom. I started riding when I was 2/3 (competing at 3) and was so excited when she took interest. She’s had two horses since last year but nothing really “fit” to start learning by herself.
My parent’s found “Sy” from a family friend last week and we just knew he was the one. He’s a 20 year old retired roping horse and is the sweetest guy for our Paisley and the perfect kid horse. When we pulled him out of the barn yesterday, Paisley’s whole face just lit up. We immediately had to jump on and take a ride.
He lets her just dote all over him and she is smitten that she has a “big girl” horse like mommy and Papaw.
My parent’s kept my first saddle so this whole experience was pretty special for all of us. It needed a good cleaning so she’s using my barrel saddle for the time being.
She is proud as punch and I am so thankful for the joy he has brought and will bring to her. I’m also pretty stinking excited for a little riding buddy. We love you bunches Paisley and are so happy for you. I can’t wait to see what all you and Bullseye will do in the Cowgirl and Rodeo realm. Yee haw, sweet girl.

I posted this the other day but this whole fort has been a process and deserving of its own post. Paisley got this for Christmas last year from her grandparents-and we just now have it put together. BUT, better now than never I suppose. We planned to have it up in the spring after the crazy snow and when it warmed up but it got busy. THEN we were planning before Scout arrived but the great flood happened and we got over 20 inches of rain. So, here we are. 600 screws later.
Our good friend Charlie and cousin Andrew helped put it up last Saturday. It was a lot of work but it looks fabulous.

This week/weekend was nothing short of sweet. I absolutely love my family and am so thankful for my life. It was one of those weekends where your heart could burst because it was simple, fun, and full of love. God has blessed this wife and mama. Zack was out of the fire academy from Wednesday on and helped me get some projects finished this week. Friday we took Paisley out of daycare for a full day of fun.
We made a trip to OKC to pick up a few things for the store, planned a movie date, and some shopping. While we were downtown we found the cutest little fall stand. Paisley and I decided we needed a pumpkin for the porch so we made a pit stop to pick one out.
We settled for a small jack-o-lantern. She wanted what they called a “big mack” but that wouldn’t fit in the car nor were we about to dish out $70 for a pumpkin. Zack suggested we make a patch and sell pumpkins next year. Apparently that’s where the money is at. 🙂
We also had to pick out a baby pumpkin for baby sister. Melt me, Paisley.
We stopped in at Bass Pro to stretch our legs, look at the fish and get little sis out of the car for a bit.
We went to see Pan at the Warren and loved it! Paisley is really good in movies and Peter Pan is one of her favorite Disney movies. Not sure what she loved more though, the candy corn or movie. We came home and stopped by my besties new place to see progress and then took the girls to my parents for the night. Zack built a campfire and we snuggled up for the night, chatting and having some time to ourselves. One of my favorite things ever.
Saturday I worked the store for a few hours while the girls were with my mom and Zack + Charlie built Paisley’s swing set.
