Thanksgiving 2013

November 30, 2013

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families! We had an awesome day filled with food, fun, and fellowship. I am so thankful and blessed with two families who love me unconditionally.
We always have Thanksgiving lunch with Zack’s side. We went to OKC and spent the afternoon with my in-laws and had a blast. We haven’t been able to spend a lot of time with them since I started school so it was really nice to be able to catch up with everyone.
The food was great and after lunch the kids went out to play as the adults slipped into a food coma. 🙂
We took a lot of family pictures (the one above is just with Zack’s parents and siblings, niece and nephew) and attempted to get one with all of us smiling. We failed.

Miss P loved plowing in the leaves and throwing them in the air.

My sweet cousin Hannah. I just love this girl.
After we left, I met my Mom in Norman for some Black Friday shopping. We braved Super Target and it got a little crazy at first. I never go “needing” or “having to buy” something so it makes it really fun to find good deals. We did go in hopes to find Paisley’s “Santa” gift that I had eyed in their sale ad. No one was tackling each other over the little Volkswagen Beetle Power Wheel Car so I scored and was able to save over $100.00! Go Santa! That was worth the trip. I am so excited to see her face Christmas morning. We went to a couple of other places and were done shopping by 10 PM. I managed to get quite a few gifts so I would say Black Friday was a success!
Today we had Thanksgiving with some of my family and my cousin was home from Nashville so I loved being able to spend some time with her. We have our tree up and some of the decorations so I will post our house at Christmas time soon.
Tomorrow Zack and I are going on a date to see John Mayer!!! 🙂 We are getting a hotel and going out to eat too. It has felt like forever since we have been on a big date. Plus, I am a total John Mayer lover so I am so excited I can’t stand it. Anytime he is in OK or somewhere close in TX I make sure I am at his concert. LOVE.

Sausage Balls Appetizer

November 28, 2013

I’m sure you already have all of your cooking and baking out of the way but if you do need a quick and easy recipe, this one is super easy!
I love bringing appetizers to Thanksgiving. Sausage balls are usually a hit at the hors devours table.
Ingredients:
1 pound of sausage
3 cups of Bisquick
2 cups of shredded cheese
That’s all!
Mix all of your ingredients together.
I found it easiest to knead if thoroughly with your hands. If the mixture gets a little dry just add a tiny bit of water.
Use an ice cream scoop to scoop out dough and put onto a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes give or take a few minutes. Just be sure that they are fully cooked inside and out.
That is all there is to them!
I hope you guys enjoy!

Proud to Be a Cowboy/Girl!

November 25, 2013

Any college football fans out there?
We are die hard Oklahoma State fans and I mean to the core bleeding orange. {We went to watch them in the Fiesta Bowl in 2011 for our Honeymoon-dedication people}
Most of you know I went to Oklahoma State and I will forever be a Cowgirl. I absolutely loved my school and couldn’t imagine going to college anywhere else.
We have been season ticket holders {Posse Members} for almost four years now and our fall weekends consist of pig skin and Pistol Pete.
This Saturday we hosted ESPN College Gameday against Baylor. Probably one of the best games {besides Bedlam 2011} I have seen played at Boone Pickens Stadium. We about froze our pants off but the game was so exciting.
My mom-n-law got to come with us which was a ton of fun! We took Paisley to Stillwater with us but her and my mom stayed in our hotel during the game. She is quite the little fan herself. Everything orange is “Pete” and when we say “Go Pokes or Go Cowboys” she holds up her pistols. Raising her right, y’all.
This weekend was a blast and I love that we shut out Baylor. I feel like we are always the underdog but I kind of like it that way. So wishing we wouldn’t have screwed up that West Virginia game earlier in the season…..a national title shot is pretty much out of the question this year but we are in the running for an awesome BCS bowl and to win the Big XII. CANNOT wait for Bedlam against OU.
That was pretty much our weekend in a nutshell. I wish this cold weather, snow, and ice would go back to where it came from though. Goodness gracious it is freezing here in OK.
