There is just something magical about October. The leaves are letting go of their branches on the trees in our yard, pumpkins adorn every room in our home, and I love the crisp mornings spent wrapped up in a blanket on the front porch with my Bible or a book in hand. I am so excited to bust out the crock pot for the remainder of the year. Baked potato soup, stew, and a few other of our favorite dishes are on the menu this week. Paisley has a field trip at the pumpkin patch with her class and we cannot wait to go on a few dates during her fall break. It’s going to be a great month.
The girls and I almost have the house completely decorated and I’m excited for our pumpkin spice candles to come in at Farm Girl. We have a couple of projects lined up at our house this month and I can’t wait to share them soon. They include painting our front door, adding shiplap, staining our front porch, adding cedar to our posts on the front porch, installing a barn door to our bedroom and putting up a fence outside for the goats and two other furry friends that are coming to live with us. (See my instagram– hint—>they are twins. ;)
Our weekend was wonderful and like all of them, not long enough. Friday was Paisley’s show-and-tell/leader day at school. They also had their tuxes and tutu day where they had a special party for manners and etiquette. I can’t wait for her teacher to post photos. And, among all of that, they had their first school bus trip to the fire station. AND Daddy was on shift that day. Since Paisley was the leader, she got to take all of her classmates around the station and show them where things were. Zack said she was so excited and it was really special for her.Saturday Zack and my mom took Paisley and Zack’s brother to the OSU game while Scout and I stayed home and had a little girl’s day. We don’t get many days with just the two of us. We dressed up in our skinnies, boots, and flowy tops, went to Farm Girl, took a little trip to the girl’s favorite book store next door for a treat, had lunch with our Nana and cousin Kolbie, and ate desert. It was so much fun and I think Scout loved the one on one.
I know this is not a great picture but I am LOVING my new LulaRoe Perfect Tee. It’s super soft, comfy, and is long! My friend Jess just announced that she is selling their clothing now so hop on over to her blog and instagram for details on how to order from her.
And then Zack and I spent the evening curled up on the couch watching a movie together. The remainder of the weekend we spent knee deep in house work, cleaning out closets, and catching up on much needed yard work.
I hope you all had a great weekend!
