BOTH of our babies are now in school and it’s crazy how fast time is flying. Yesterday was their first day for 2nd grade and pre-k. I remember taking Paisley on her first day and Scout was just a baby then.
We had back to school night to meet their teachers and drop their supplies off. I love that they do this and it makes the first day run a little smoother. We are so excited that Scout has the global financial crisis essay Paisley had in Pre-K and that Paisley got the one she wanted too. I think both girls are going to have a great year!
Our morning went well. We got the girls up for breakfast and then got dressed and ready for the day. It’s my “goal” to have lunches packed and clothes set out the night before because it saves so much time. We will see if I make it to September. Scout of course wanted to wear a dress, shiny lips and hair curled and Paisley looked like such a big kid!
We took our annual 1st day pictures with the board I bought back for Paisley’s first day. We will see if they will humor me and do this until they are seniors.
Papaw had to jump in for a picture.
We took Scout first because they head to the cafeteria and eat breakfast as a class in pre-k. She did so good and was so excited. She gave me big hugs and walked right in. I’m so very proud of her.
Then we walked Paisley to class. She was a little nervous but was excited for her new class, a new hall, and everything seemed so much…..older. Mama was hurting and her teacher made her give me a hug before she walked in. I did ok until I got to the car and balled like a baby. Time goes so quickly and Scout being our last baby just makes it seem so much harder.
I sat in my car and watched Scout’s class walk to the lunch room. She was 2nd in line, skipping, and had the biggest smile on her face.
Hug your babies tight and enjoy your time.
When I picked the girls up for school they were “starving” but had the best day ever. Paisley had a lot to tell me which was a first and Scout didn’t have much to say….also a first. LOL Scout was actually exhausted and finally told me all about her day after we got an after school snack. She had fun playing with Jaxi and made 64 friends today.
If only I could be a fly on the wall. This year is going to be a fun one.
