When I was a little girl, my mom would wrap some of our gifts up in feed sacks and it’s one of those small, simple Christmas memories from my childhood that I remember.
Typically the sacks were brown and she’d deck them out with a cute western bow and gift tag. When she’d go for a load of horse feed or cubes, she’d have them give her some unfilled bags they hadn’t used yet for the feed they mixed there. I always loved it and thought it was such a clever way to wrap our gifts while also being a nod to our way of life.
I decided to bring that back this year and talked a little bit about it in our recent Paintbrush Prairie episode. I prefer the plain brown feed sacks but these Shawnee Feeds are still fun too. I took our branding iron to a few, added a bow, and a cute gift tag from Talia’s Etsy shop! These make wrapping odd shaped, bulky packages so easy!
I also wanted to share a few gorgeous photos Michelle Mensing took of my wrapping paper. I love seeing everyone’s packages wrapped up in this under the tree.
