A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was create
I can’t believe we are halfway through November already. It seems like September came and the days have flown by. Fall is one of my favorite seasons on the ranch. Fall calving isn’t like spring calving but I love the new babies that have been dropping, the foliage changing color on the trees, putting the gardens to bed, and the nice temperatures. It’s my favorite time to ride and we just enjoy slowing down after the hay season has ended.
Mums, pumpkins, and cozy fall smells. It truly is a close tie with Christmas around here for me. I made a big pot of chicken & dumplings the other night and it was so good. I’ll try to share the recipe here soon.
Our longhorns are looking so good. I’m so proud of our yearlings and our mommas have calved out really nicely. We will have a couple of registered babies that will be ready for sale in the spring. They are just beautiful! It’s been special to watch our bulls grow into nice herd sires. My goal is to have our ranch website finished this winter so we can list them all on there.
We had our annual Bedlam cookout with family (Go Pokes) and have been having lots of playtime with our sweet girl, Elizabeth. She LOVES all of the animals and spending time with Paisley and Scout. It’s so much fun watching her discover everything.
I hope you all are soaking up this season. It truly goes faster than any others, I think. Happy Weekend!
