Romper & Sandals: Baby Gap
We really aren’t trying to turn her into Cinderella. Paisley has been my little shadow while doing housework lately and she loves it! It has turned into quite the joke around my family that we make our toddler to manual labor. {hence the child sized broom, by the way my aunt bought that}
I find it funny and adorable that she wants to help out-not that she really knows what she is doing. This stage more than likely won’t last long but still, awesome. I don’t remember just jumping for joy to help my mother with cleaning the house-unless it was my room. She loves to dust, sweep, and again, the laundry thing. We have to keep the door shut or she will run into the laundry room and pull all of the clothes out of the washer and dryer and start pushing buttons. It weirdly melts my heart that she likes to be mama’s buddy while cleaning because I am a clean freak-its probably unhealthy how organized I like to be whereas my husband is polar opposite. He likes to call his “piles of things” an “organized mess.”
I was thinking about when I was a kid and how kids are today. I am often blown away at how little of responsibilities they have, if any. I ALWAYS had chores to do. I had a lot on my plate as a child and young adult because I was involved in a lot of activities but I still had to help out my parents. To this day I am so thankful for the work ethic and responsibility my parents instilled in me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving your kids some sort of daily responsibility. I am not saying that we are going to have Paisley taking out the trash or scrubbing toilets at two but when she does get old enough to take on some responsibility, then she can help us out in small ways.
Ok, enough with the soap box. {no pun intended}
I thought it was precious at how much she enjoyed sweeping, dusting, and throwing laundry in the washer so I had to snap a picture and share.
We are on the downhill slide for the week! I hope you all have a fantastic day tomorrow.
Blessings.

Yes ma’am! Love your blog!
HA! Why do they all love sweeping? Drew begs to get the sweeper out and sweet the floors. Who am I to tell him no?! And I’m with you for the chores thing. We had chores and didn’t have an allowance. It was just part of being a family.. everyone pitches in!
I have no idea but it is too adorable!
How precious! I agree that children need responsibility and there’s nothing wrong with them helping around the house. And I just can’t get over that broom! Adorbs!
Thank you so much!
Adorable! I completely agree about the responsibility bit. Riggs loves to ‘help’ with chores too and I encourage him as much as I can. Such a great way to spend time together while they learn good habits too!
Yes it is! Love that they like to help out!
