Lit League

Lit League

I was thrilled when Lit League contacted me about becoming an affiliate and sharing their boxes with you all! As you know, we are book lovers. It’s my mission to raise readers and it’s a joy to see them get lost in books. These activity boxes take a story even deeper and are themed entirely around whatever the book is.

Lit League’s book-themed activity boxes are easy and convenient. They’re a wonderful choice for families looking for effortless ways to supplement at-home learning or for those kiddos who thoroughly just LOVE to read.

Each box contains a new reading adventure and provides hours of cross-curricular, screen free fun. Veteran educators curate these fun boxes to create a culture of reading in the home and are designed to foster a love of reading.

What’s in a Lit League Box? Each box includes:

  • a high-interest picture book (ages 3-9), early chapter book (ages 5-9), or chapter book (ages 8-12)
  • a book specific vocabulary bookmark
  • 4-5 fun-filled questions and enriching activities related to the book
  • discussion questions and answered aligned with grade appropriate standards
  • the tools to enjoy a shared family experience or to participate in a book club with friends
  • a joyous reading experience for caregivers and both reluctant and avid readers

Book Club

Everything is more fun with friends! One of the great aspects of Lit League is that it includes instructions for
using our boxes to run a book club. Many use their boxes to facilitate friend book clubs, sibling or cousin book clubs, or to establish special one-on-one book club time with mom, dad, a grandparent, or an aunt or uncle. Have more than one learner in a group? Instead of buying multiple boxes, families can save money and add additional activity kits for siblings or friends. They’ll get one book along with additional activity kits for $10.00 per member per month!

This is such a great resource I plan to incorporate into our homeschool learning and I love that all of the work has already been done for me!

Lit League has so kindly given me the code: FARMGIRL15 to share with my readers for 15% off of everything at LitLeagueBoxes.com!

Wild Gold + Weekend Things

Wild Gold + Weekend Things

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! When it feels like 106 outside, there’s not much else you can do but play in the water and hose off horses.

All five of our boys got trimmed and new shoes as well as a much needed bath on Saturday.

I shared on Instagram about a wonderful Camelina oil I use for the horses and dogs called Wild Gold.

“Why Camelina? Besides being essential to your horse’s diet, the Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids in Wild Gold Original Camelina Oil have been shown to positively impact cell membrane response to trauma and infection. Recent research in horses has even shown that fatty acids may have the potential to help regulate insulin sensitivity. Wild Gold also contains naturally occurring Vitamin E that not only prevents rancidity of the product but also provides your horse with a potent anti-inflammatory in a form that can be easily digested.”

This is great for:

  • joint mobility
  • skin health
  • stamina/endurance
  • normal inflammatory response

You can check out my Wild Gold Highlight on Instagram with more information, how I use it in their feed, as well as before photos and videos. I will follow back up in about 6-8 weeks to share results!

I’m now an affiliate and would it if you would use this link if you decide you’d like to try it!

We had a pretty slow weekend other than that. Zack worked in the hayfield all day Saturday and at the station Sunday. Yesterday the girls and I continued to work on our house, purging closets, and trying to organize some neglected spaces that I’ll share soon. I had to share this cute picture of Scout I took last night after we went to feed horses. She’s been picking out her outfits lately and getting dressed on her own and I have to say, I hope she loves overalls forever.

The dogs are getting a much needed grooming today and I’m sharing some of our favorite Aussie things tomorrow on the blog. Stay tuned! Have a great Monday!

Transforming Your Bedroom with Rod’s Western

Transforming Your Bedroom with Rod’s Western

When I was contacted by Rod’s about collaborating awhile back I was ecstatic! I love shopping there for unique finds, especially bedding! I’ve bought a few bedding sets and quilts from them over the years and have loved every piece I’ve purchased.

Many of you know from previous home posts on my instagram, I’m a sucker for Pendleton. When I was discussing home goods with Maddie + Steph at Rod’s, I knew I was wanting to give our bedroom a little refresh and I truly believe a bedspread/quilt can transform the entire look and feel to a space. I saw this Wyeth Trail quilt and felll.in.love. The whole color scheme is my vibe with the warm tones and it literally goes with everything!

I previously had the White Sands Pendleton quilt on our bed. My mom had purchased it for me from Rod’s a couple of years ago for Christmas and I saw today that they still had that one if you are interested.

I love these quilts because you can easily put them over a duvet during the colder months or like we do, just have it over your sheets. I’ve thrown my White Sands quilt in the washer many times and it holds up so well! The quality of these beautiful pieces is unmatched and it’s always my go to when I’m trying style a room for a client or for my own home. A king set like mine includes (1) 110×96 quilt and (2) 20×36 king shams. I love putting different colored/patterned sheets underneath.

This is my favorite quilt they’ve come out with and it fits our bed perfect. We have a king and got that same size which lends us plenty of room to spare.

Today would be a wonderful day to grab this (and a few other goodies) while taking advantage of their Cyber Monday specials! Receive 10% off sitewide using code: CYBER2020 at checkout and any order over $75 ships for free.

They were such a joy to work with and they are also one of my favorite places to shop. I know I’ll be frequenting often when my home design bookings start in January and I can’t wait to pick some of their pieces for my clients. If you have any questions on sizing, colors, etc, please do not hesitate to email me-I’d be happy to help!

Beddy’s

Beddy’s

I literally squealed when I got the email about partnering with Beddy’s. I’ve been eyeing these for the girl’s shared bedroom and they are game changers when it comes to bed making. Since they both share a room, it’s pretty tight quarters with two twin beds and not the easiest space for them to make it back each morning.

I love this company because there is nothing like it on the market. Each set is all one piece! Yes, sheet, blanket, AND comforter that goes on the bed like a fitted sheet. You also get a sham and coordinating pillow case. The all-in-one feature makes it so easy to put on, make, and wash. The quality is impeccable and my girls love the independence of getting to make their beds without needing help. Also to mention, they LOVE the comfort. Each set has a sturdy zipper on either side that makes it easy and smooth for a kid to zip it up.

We chose the Vintage Blush set but it was a hard choice next to the Nantucket. They have a wide variety of colors and patterns and Beddy’s comes in sizes toddler all the way up to king! They are perfect for any bed and there’s one to accommodate anyone’s style preference.

I plan to incorporate a set into each kid room for my home design clients next year. The versatility in colors/designs makes my job so much easier in decorating a variety of home styles. I never recommend something I don’t love or try for myself. The only thing I regret is not knowing about them sooner!

Beddy’s has so graciously given me a discount code to share with my followers for 15% off your order! Use code: FARMGIRL or click here to apply code at checkout. I’d love to hear from you if you decide to purchase one for yourself or kiddo!

If I can help answer any questions comment below or send me an email and I’d be happy to help!

My Favorite Way to Print Photos

My Favorite Way to Print Photos

I’m so excited to share with you my favorite way to print photos. The size of these retro prints are my go-to when decorating my work area, small spaces in our home, or even when I need wallet sized images. Zack likes these for his locker at the firehouse and his truck.

I found Fox Print about four years ago when I was working on my youngest daughter’s baby book. I was needing prints of her milestones that were small and square, not quite a Polaroid but similar to that style.I found this company and immediately fell in love. The best part was that they were so reasonable!

I have had several questions about my work area in my store from these being in the background of several of my video stories. I have them hung up with tiny clothespins on twine with a fun pom garland. Many these pictures I directly uploaded from instagram which made the ordering process even more simple. It makes my space homey and cozy and I love showing off my sweet family.

I ordered over 80 photos this last round and it was all under $20. Foxprint also offers a deal on any order of $30 or more, you receive free shipping! There are several style options as well, from Polaroid to border-less, magnets, stickers and more!

They have been so generous to offer a discount to my blog followers on your first order! Use code: FARMGB at checkout for 20% off of your entire order!

I hope you take advantage of this awesome offer. I’d love to see how you use yours if you happen to do so!
