I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! Here is a little recap of our holiday.
So I woke up early to make chocolate chip cookies and snicker doodles from scratch to take to Zack’s family and what do you know? Our oven goes out. So I totally failed at bringing a desert. We left about 11:00 and drove to Oklahoma City to Zack’s Aunt’s new home and had a big lunch with his Mom’s side of the family. It was so nice to get together with everyone and visit. We miss them so much! Next we drove back home and went to my Nana’s house to have dinner with my Dad’s side of the family. As always, lots of good food and fun. :)
Our first Thanksgiving as a family!!! Terrible sun photo of me. Blah.
My Mother-In-Law always makes awesome foods that look like animals. :)
A little Thanksgiving meltdown.
Poor Bear had too much turkey.
Thursday Night/Black Friday
So I am not a Black Friday shopper. I don’t think it’s necessary to flip out on people for CHRISTmas gifts right after “Thanksgiving.” You can really see people’s true colors and their ideals on the season when it comes to Black Friday. However, I do like to go just for fun, to people watch, and hey I get to find stuff on sale that no one goes crazy over. I’m happy. My Aunt, Mom, and I decided to hit up Walmart at about 10:00. I got a crock pot big enough for cheese dip for $5.00, some cheap but cool stocking stuffers, and a Santa present for Paisley. Pretty happy about my purchases. Then we all get the bright idea to go to Norman (over an hour drive) around 11:30 to check out what Target had. I LOVE Target anytime of the day/night so of course I am going to go! I got a few things and I always love their dollar shelves for stocking stuffers. All in all we had a good time and got home around 4:30. I was pooped.
No sleep plus another trip to the doctors office for Paisley, we now know she has bronchitis. Boo. So ready for our entire family to be well. Later in the afternoon we all went to Nana’s house to decorate for Christmas. We go all out on decorations and the granddaughters have always decorated, a tradition I started when I was little. So much fun.
We can never put the topper on therefore we call Zack. :)
On Saturday we had a “Bedlam” party and watched the Oklahoma/Oklahoma State Game. My team lost so I have nothing to say but home cooking. The end.
My dad and Zack went fishing all day so Paisley and I relaxed or at least tried to. She has been a little mess the last week and I hope this phase doesn’t last. She has to be entertained 24/7 and when I go to do something she screams so I tell her “no no” and try to be stern with my voice and she makes this face. What can I do but laugh? I know, we are in trouble.
So that sums up our “short” break and we are now in full swing until Christmas. I hope everyone enjoyed their time with family and friends!
