Summer Tablescape

Summer Tablescape

I recently freshened up the kitchen table with a new centerpiece. I try to change it up seasonally with things we have around the house. I ended up reusing a few items that were already there like the garden tray and beaded garland. Another item I use often instead of runners are calf hides! The give a more rustic feel and are easy to clean.

The “vase” was an old crock I had in the cabinet with a $10 grocery store bouquet. I love having fresh flowers in the house all summer. Most of the time we pick wild flowers but I couldn’t pass up these pretty blooms. I splurged on a new candle the other day and the adorable Brahma shakers are from one of my favorite thrift sites, Single Wide Style. The frame is from my store and the sheds Zack brought home after spraying in the tractor a few weeks ago. I love when we finds me things like that.

It doesn’t take a lot to give a space a fresh new look!

Transforming Your Bedroom with Rod’s Western

Transforming Your Bedroom with Rod’s Western

When I was contacted by Rod’s about collaborating awhile back I was ecstatic! I love shopping there for unique finds, especially bedding! I’ve bought a few bedding sets and quilts from them over the years and have loved every piece I’ve purchased.

Many of you know from previous home posts on my instagram, I’m a sucker for Pendleton. When I was discussing home goods with Maddie + Steph at Rod’s, I knew I was wanting to give our bedroom a little refresh and I truly believe a bedspread/quilt can transform the entire look and feel to a space. I saw this Wyeth Trail quilt and felll.in.love. The whole color scheme is my vibe with the warm tones and it literally goes with everything!

I previously had the White Sands Pendleton quilt on our bed. My mom had purchased it for me from Rod’s a couple of years ago for Christmas and I saw today that they still had that one if you are interested.

I love these quilts because you can easily put them over a duvet during the colder months or like we do, just have it over your sheets. I’ve thrown my White Sands quilt in the washer many times and it holds up so well! The quality of these beautiful pieces is unmatched and it’s always my go to when I’m trying style a room for a client or for my own home. A king set like mine includes (1) 110×96 quilt and (2) 20×36 king shams. I love putting different colored/patterned sheets underneath.

This is my favorite quilt they’ve come out with and it fits our bed perfect. We have a king and got that same size which lends us plenty of room to spare.

Today would be a wonderful day to grab this (and a few other goodies) while taking advantage of their Cyber Monday specials! Receive 10% off sitewide using code: CYBER2020 at checkout and any order over $75 ships for free.

They were such a joy to work with and they are also one of my favorite places to shop. I know I’ll be frequenting often when my home design bookings start in January and I can’t wait to pick some of their pieces for my clients. If you have any questions on sizing, colors, etc, please do not hesitate to email me-I’d be happy to help!

I hope your first weekend of 2016 was wonderful. We have been going through our home, purging clutter and getting items ready to sell + donate. I love new beginnings, however, the abundance of things scattered across our home can feel a bit overwhelming. I try to look at it as a clean slate and a weight lifted off our shoulders. It’s funny how excess can do that. This year we are trying to live a more minimal lifestyle, only keeping things we really love and use that are also functional for our family. I am so excited. Old stuff makes my heart pitter patter. Especially if it was something previously used that has a lot of history. My mom kept this precious little bookcase AND all of the books inside that were mine growing up. We put it in Scout’s nursery for the girls to enjoy and the memories flooded in. I’ve been a book nerd from day one. As a kid I would rather be lost in a book than bored in front of a TV and one of my hopes for the girls is that they are more excited about written words than images on a screen. Paisley and I pulled the books out, in their old but awesome smelling glory, and we had so much fun going through them. One of my favorite memories as a young child was my parents reading to me. These were a couple of my favorites. Some of the books were my parents that they handed down to me. I love re-purposing items, especially these that are so special. It’s so neat to see things come full circle. We also have a doll sized high chair, cradle, and table with benches that match the bookcase. Paisley has the highchair in her room and uses it all of the time. I am thrilled to see them make memories with these pieces. Do your kids use any of your old items? I’d love to know in the comments below. :) Our weekend was slow and good for us to rest up as Zack went back today for his last week and a half! We spent time baking, trying new recipes, our first church weekend for the New Year and loving on the girls-so blessed by my family. Happy Monday to you all, I hope you have a great week!
