This Halloween was so much fun! This year we decided to go to our friend’s house (Aubrey + Cody) in town and help hand out candy in their neighborhood. Aubrey and I manned the porch and candy while we sent the dad’s off with the kiddos to trick or treat. The weather was absolutely perfect and the kids looked adorable in their costumes. The girls are at such fun ages right now and we couldn’t resist dressing up to a theme. Paisley is really into the Wizard of Oz right now and I think they made a perfect Dorothy + Glinda. Paisley’s costume is from Target which was fun that I found Toto in a basket. Scout’s crown is from this etsy shop, her dress for $12 from Amazon, and you might remember her wand from Paisley’s 3rd Birthday party. I love to re-purpose. It worked out perfect that Everest was going to be a lion too. The littles got to ride in the wagon while the big siblings ran from house to house for the candy. We ordered pizza in and had it delivered (I forget what a luxury that is since we live in the sticks lol) and enjoyed seeing all of the unique costumes and listening to the cute comments out of the mouths of babes. Aubrey and Cody are new to the neighborhood, one that is a big spot for trick or treaters on Halloween in our town. Aubrey loaded up on FULL SIZE candy bars to hand out and we got so tickled at the kids reactions when they realized they were getting a whole snickers or big sack of m&m’s in their bucket. If I had a $1 for every time I heard a kid yell “WOAH MOM! DAD! THEY GOT THE BIG CANDY!” or “THIS IS THE BEST HOUSE EVER!” Kids are funny. While Zack and Cody took the kids around for candy, Creed told one house “thank you for your candy but you need to mow your lawn.” Creed for the win. That kid is going places. The girls had so much fun playing with the boys and it was nice to just have a low key evening with my sweet friend and our families. I can’t wait to do this again next year! I’m always so sad when Halloween is over because fall is my favorite season and it seems like we immediately slip straight into Christmas. Not that I’m complaining much because we are Christmas fanatics but it seems like this season has gone so fast. I hope you all had a wonderful night with your kids!
I had to share a few photos from our session with my dear friend, Aubrey. This was Scout’s first Halloween and we had the girls coordinate costumes so I decided a fun little shoot was in order. Paisley wore my Pocahontas costume from when I was four. So neat to see items passed down to my girlies.
