Summer nights are here and we couldn’t love them more. Friday we celebrated my dad’s birthday with burgers and cake at my parent’s house. Paisley and I picked up a cake and didn’t have time to get it decorated. So we improvised with toys from the car floorboard (I washed them of course) and stuck them on top with a few candles. Paisley allowed that “Papaw would love it. He’s a cowboy anyways.” Saturday, Paisley and her bestie had an afternoon play date and Scout did her best to keep up with the big girls. Zack worked at the station Sunday while the girls and I had a low key afternoon. This week starts party mode and I will be running around like crazy until Sunday is over. Happy Monday!
Catching up a bit on posting some photos. Life has been so chaotic that I haven’t been able to blog much but that is about to change soon with a new design and a lot of draft posts that are in the works.
The weekend before Spring break, my friend Jess and her little girl/Paisley’s friend came up for a visit. One minute the girls were terrorizing each other, the next besties. Check out their wedges. ;) Jess brought us a new load of accessories to stock up the store and we love them. Scout is modeling one above. Scout discovered mashed potatoes were her favorite food over the break and meant business when it came time to eat. That little face just melts me. Mashed taters and all. We had a movie date to see Zootopia, Paisley had a girl’s day with Momoe and her cousins at Nanas, and I got a wild hair over the break to paint my entire kitchen and living room…..and hall. :)Paisley had her first trip to the library over the break. And we had did a lot of front porch sittin’ with this baby love. Hope you had a wonderful week. I sure have loved this time with my little family.
This weekend was a blast. We were finally able to get out and about for some fun holiday festivities with friends. Paisley is obsessed with the Polar Express so my friend Jess and I planned a little weekend fun with our other friend couple to take the kids to enjoy some Christmas magic. We picked up Aubrey, Cody, and Creed and made our way to Grapevine to meet up with The Temple’s. Lunch was at a cute little Bistro and then we made our way to the Gaylord Texan to see ICE.
They have a huge exhibit of sculptures all made out of ice. We had to put on giant blue coats because the temperature is in the single digits. They kids loved it and Paisley loved going down the ice slide. After, we had to jet because we almost missed our train! Like really missed it. It started to take off as we were getting on. We all felt like we were on Home Alone, rushing to get to our destination.
We all got tickets that were punched by the conductor. We sang carols with the elves and then Mrs. Clause made an appearance. Every child got a bell. Paisley’s night was made. We stopped at the “North Pole” to meet Santa. Paisley was in awe. I loved seeing the magic in her eyes as we stepped off of the train and “snow” began to fall. All of the kids got a mug with Santa’s special snow chocolate milk and a picture with him. She told him she wanted Toy Story toys (the real Jessie and Woody) for Christmas and that she was a good girl this year. Scout really didn’t care about any of it but participated. Ha!The rest of the evening we toured downtown Grapevine and then had dinner at Cody’s Uncle’s. (Inside Joke) But we really had the best Mexican food I’ve ate in a long time. I’m amazed at how beautiful Grapevine’s Main Street is. It really looks like THE Northpole. #smalltowngoals
The kids had a ball and all but Zack and Cody crashed on the way home. Thankful for good friends and good times.
