I’m thrilled to share a small business I have purchased from in the past and then recently came upon on instagram again a few weeks ago! Valley S Design Co. made by turquoise hoop dreams come to life and was so sweet to send me a few goodies to review (and a code-see below) for you all!
This was the very first necklace I purchased from her “YEEHAW” and is one of my favorite pieces to wear. This comes in a set and it so cute and versatile!
These are hands down the most lightweight hoop earrings I’ve ever owned! I love that they are also a statement earring and can be paired with a cute outfit or jeans and a tee!
As a small business owner myself, you know how important it is for me that we support each other. Jennifer and I have a lot in common as farm and fire wives and we both raise longhorns! She is amazing at her craft and loves making jewelry people can wear everyday which is another reason why I’m drawn to her work.
She started making statement pieces that she found she personally would only wear at NFR and didn’t like that concept so she now focuses on the simple, everyday items.
You can shop her website here and she has been so gracious to offer the code: FARMGIRL for my readers to take 10% off your entire purchase!
I wanted to share a few things I’ve loved wearing this summer with links. I’ll make this super quick. Of course, Farm Girl Tees + Ball caps always.
Another is overalls and jumpsuits. My love for 90’s was screaming when I found these. I have it paired with a Matilda Jane embroidered floral tee and these HD West Leather earrings. My shoes are from last season at Farm Girl but I have them linked here. I also feel like they make me look 5″ shorter than I really am but this summer I’ve embraced the “I don’t care, wear what makes you feel good, and you do you!” It’s liberating. Also fun.
Another one of my favorite, comfy, outfits this summer has been a maxi skirt with a tee. Whoever started this “dressing up a tee” trend, thank you! I love using our Farm Girl tees with these pretty skirts. As you can see, I’ve been able to put together several outfits with the tees, shoes, and earrings.
If you’ve poked around on my instagram for any period of time, you know how big of a fan I am of Flying Spade Co. May is a dear friend of mine and everything she does is handcrafted from scratch with genuine leather and old chap hide that is top notch quality. We started carrying her items in 2019, debuting them at the NFR in our booth and have been stocking them since.
I love how light weight and versatile they are. You can literally wear them with anything. I pair them with denim and a cute graphic tee or throw them with a dress and my tooled leather heels like in the photo below. I have a very different “style” I guess you could say. I never gravitate towards what’s trendy or “in” rather I like what I like and stick to my personality. Something that is classic and will stand the test of time (like genuine vintage turquoise) or something that’s tooled/leather/handmade is what I want to spend my money on when it comes to purchasing for my wardrobe. These have that old school western/cowgirl chic feel to them and as old chap leather does, will get better with age.
If you have seen May’s announcement recently, you may have noticed she is stepping away from her business for awhile as she is beginning a new adventure with a brand new career path. However, not to worry because she’s graciously going to continue to stock Farm Girl with our favorite pieces. Rest assured, FSC isn’t going away permanently.
We will also have these in our shop very soon! How cute are these concho hair ties!?
Continue to support this gal who has become one of my best friends and like a little sister to me! Sometimes you just know when you need to step away and make a move. I’m proud of her for recognizing that this was an opportunity for a new season. She’s still going to create and I’m sure will do updates periodically but you will still be able to get your hands on some of these gorgeous items from us. :)
