I was an only child and always dreamed of what having a sister would be like. A built in best friend. Someone to share your secrets with. Someone to go through life with. Yes, being an only child had perks but it got lonely. My best friends are a pair of sisters and I always wanted to have that special bond-they fought, yes- but now their relationship is priceless and so precious. When we found out that we were having another girl, my heart swelled. Knowing that Paisley was going to have a forever friend and that special relationship made me fill with joy.
Two girls has been a dream come true. God has blessed us abundantly-Zack and I are so in love. Paisley has been the biggest help and just adores her. We giggle and dream of the days when they will be chasing butterflies in the yard, jumping on the back of their horses to play Cowgirls and Indians, dressing up in costume, fighting over the bathroom, going to their first dance, and how much it will cost when they will go to prom.
Paisley and Scout, if I could remind both of you one thing, it would be that you are so blessed to have one another. I know there will be many, many days of fighting, taddling, pestering, and tears but I pray that you grow more in love. That you reflect the love of Jesus to one another, that you give grace when it’s hard, and that you remember that Daddy and I love you both more than anything in this world.
When girls won’t play nice, you have your first heartbreak, or when you just feel alone-remember that your sister is there and that she loves you and has your back.I am so excited to see your sisterhood unfold and all of the adventures we are going to have. You girls are treasures and Mommy loves you to Heaven and back.
