Oh how this girl makes us laugh. She has changed and matured so much in the last few weeks. It’s crazy how fast they grow and learn. It’s amazing. This past weekend, I got her new swimsuit for the summer in and surprised her when I got home Saturday. She immediately had to put the “flingo” swimsuit on and go play in the sprinkler at Moe Moe and Papaw’s. She is so much fun.
She is pretty smitten over Pumpkin. We will start riding and roping at the pen soon and I can’t wait for her to fall in love with horses even more. She is constantly telling Zack and I that she is a “Cowgirl like Jessie” and yells “YEEEEHHAAAAWWWW” when she is playing pretend. Boots are still her number one clothing staple and we have even stole Papaw’s cowboy hat as an accessory.
Since we had Easter, she has been interested in the real meaning of why we celebrate. She’s been “preaching” and telling her friends at daycare about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. She’s memorized two bible verses and her favorite song is “I Am Not Alone” by Kari Jobe. We listen to K-Love while we are in the car and one day she just started singing the words and asked me to sing with her. “Mommy, I LOVE this song!”
I think that has been one of the most amazing things to witness is her childlike faith. It really makes me evaluate how much I reflect Christ to others. Our kids teach us so much, we just have to listen. She blesses me more than she will ever know. I am so thankful God gave her to us. Parenting is so hard sometimes but when I see her loving Jesus, I feel like we are doing something right.
We are so proud of you, Paisley. Never ever let anyone alter your faith in the Lord. It’s the most important thing we can possess. He’s all we will ever need. I love you my sweet girl.
