I love looking back on that night. But I also love more than anything about where we are today. I’d be lying if I said that right after the wedding our marriage was a complete dream and easy. Marriage is work and is never a stroll on easy street but being married to the love of your life is all worth it. A short time later we had Paisley and had to adjust to not only being married and living together but raising a child as well.
There were some arguments and we still disagree on some things but that’s how we learn, that’s how we figure each other out, and that is how we grow.
We didn’t have very much money (still don’t) but we are blessed beyond measure. We serve an amazing God who teaches us daily about love and selflessness. We have each other. We have love. We have the Lord. In my book, that is all we will ever need.
I am no marriage expert or love guru but I will give three things that we stand on in our marriage:
- Faithfulness: to God, to one another, and to our family.
- Love: love is not just a feeling but its a choice. We choose to love one another. We accept our flaws and differences and love them anyway. We love full out.
- Time: We take time out for one another. We talk about our day, our plans, things going on in our mind and heart. We take time to go out and just have some us time.
Marriage is a gift. A HUGE gift from God. It’s a privilege and dream come true to be married to my best friend. It’s amazing to fall in love again everyday and I am so thankful for Zack. He and Paisley are my biggest blessings.
Zack, I love you. Always have and always will. Thank you for being such a leader, husband, and father in our home. You are setting the standard for Paisley and I can’t thank you enough. Thank you for your unconditional love and support. I love you-forever and always.
