DIY Hair Ties

April 1, 2015

1 Apr

IMG_5801I’ve been in love with these hair ties for awhile now but couldn’t justify paying the price at large chain stores. I am now selling them in store at Farm Girl Boutique but for super cheap. :) This little project is super easy. You will need 5/8″ elastic, something to measure with, scissors, and either a burning tool or some sort of glue to seal the ends.

IMG_5800I whipped up a bunch of these in an hour. All there is to it is cutting and tying. I cut my elastic between 8 1/2 – 9″ in length. You can decided how big you would like them. I have really thick hair as do a lot of girls and most like to wear them as bracelets so I thought this was the best length to use. Next, I just tied it toward the end, leaving a little tail. Then I used a lighter to sear the ends to prevent fraying.

IMG_5809That’s all there is to it! These make super cute and affordable gifts and I can’t wait to see how they do in store. :)
