We celebrated our honeymoon a couple weeks after the wedding in Glendale, Arizona to watch Oklahoma State BEAT Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl. It was an amazing wedding gift from my Aunt & Uncle and we had a blast! I loved Arizona and the game, of course was fabulous. We spent the rest of January getting things settled into our little home in Harrah. I also started this blog! I cannot believe it has almost been a year since I made this. Zack went back to aviation school while I got the bad case of nesting and you know what that means…….Paisley was almost here.
This year has been an amazing, wonderful, scary, crazy, hectic, ride full of change, laughter, blessings, and love. I’ve had a wonderful year and I am so excited to start 2013! I have a lot of goals set for myself as well as my family but before we say goodbye to another year, here are some of our big moments in 2012.
I made it to full term and Paisley arrived at 11:46 P.M. on February 7, 2012 at 8 pounds 10 ounces and 21 inches long. Bringing her into this world was the most rewarding moment of my life. Our beautiful girl, after 26 hours of hard labor, was finally in our arms. A week later I turned another year older and spent the rest of the month trying to heal. That however, not so fun.
Zack and I went on our first date since we got married. It was nice to get out and enjoy the two of us. By this time Paisley had started to sleep all night and we have been spoiled with an all night sleeping baby ever since. We also decided our yard and flowerbeds needed a little bit of landscaping so we spent a little too much money on flowers and mulch but it turned out beautiful. Papa Mac came in from Mexico and also got to meet Paisley!
God had other plans in store for us this month and we decided we would pack up and move to Ada. We were blessed with some awesome opportunities and took them and haven’t looked back since. I am so glad we did. We decided to start house plans and found us a piece of land and began the legal process of getting it.
It was time for me to go back to the working world. I got a job working for an Optometrist and I love it. Zack also got a dream job of his to teach MMA and boxing at White Rock Fitness.
We celebrated Zack’s birthday and went on a date to see the new Batman movie at the Warren Theater in Moore. Zack also experienced his 1st father’s day! :)
A lot of our weekends in July consisted of grilling, fishing, being on the lake, and going to Canton shopping. We took our friends down with us and had a great time.
Paisley started day care at Monte Vista Academy and I am so thankful that we got in. I was so skeptical at first because I have heard horror stories about other day cares but this one is fabulous. I have been so impressed by her teachers their and bond with her. It makes me feel at ease that I am dropping her off at a place that has their stuff together and that she is safe. Paisley also had a 1/2 birthday!
We kicked off a new season of Oklahoma State Football and it was a tough season but this year was a rebuilding year and those make for long ones at times. We had a blast anyways and was so glad we were able to take Zack’s parents to a game with us!
Paisley spent her first Halloween as a Hoot Owl and a pretty darn cute one at that! I am so happy the way her costume turned out! I also began to blog about “Our Story” and will be ending it with Part 7 soon!
We bought our first family car! We love our new Edge! We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our families. We finally got the deed to our land and started the building process!!!
December was a bittersweet month. We celebrated 1 year of marriage with a weekend to ourselves in the city, had our first Christmas as a family, and lost my Grandma. Such an emotional time for all of my family.
We are so extremely overwhelmed by God’s blessings to us this year and we cannot wait for what he brings in 2013!
