A Farm Girl Fiesta

September 21, 2016

21 Sep

birthday-34Friday we celebrated Farm Girl’s 2nd birthday with a fiesta themed party. I cannot believe two whole years have already come and gone. The small business world can be a tough one but also rewarding. I have so much fun and enjoy this little space more than I can say. I’m so thankful to be able to do what I absolutely love as well as the opportunity to love on others and make new lasting friendships in our community.

fg-birthday-flyerWe had Nacho Biznez food truck for lunch, sweets, new product out, and fun giveaways for our customers.

Again, my friend Chelsea from Scribbles Bakery nailed it on exactly what I wanted for the sweets. The cake was almost too pretty to cut. I had her make cactus cupcakes again since they were such a hit at Paisley’s birthday party this year.birthday-2 birthday-8birthday-43birthday-40birthday-45birthday-23birthday-24birthday-25birthday-22birthday-41birthday-17birthday-9birthday-6birthday-7birthday-13birthday-15birthday-20birthday-19birthday-18birthday-37birthday-12birthday-10 birthday-27birthday-11   birthday-29 birthday-30Aubrey also captured this amazing video for us as well. She continues to amaze me with her talent.

It was such an awesome day and we appreciate all of the support from our local and online customers. Thank you for keeping our doors open.

Happy Birthday, Farm Girl. Here’s to year 3!

She’s done all of my work for my blog and now my store for almost 5 years. And shiplap….. LOVE! I have a fresh new vision for the blog and will start to post more regularly with not only our daily life but more projects, recipes, and more. I am so excited. Be sure to follow me on Bloglovin’, Facebook, and Pinterest to keep up with my posts. And of course, Instagram for our daily snaps.

Cruisin Main + Weekending

June 27, 2016

13438922_10153550220665685_8971377473863532614_nWhat a whirlwind of a weekend. It started solid and ended a little rough but we made it and had fun along the way. Friday night we had our town’s annual Cruisin’ Main. “Dragging Main” used to be a huge deal for teens in our town for decades. Over the last 10-12 years there isn’t much of it anymore so we make it a fun event once a year for families to come out. There are food vendors, a lot of cool cars, music, and more. Each year it gets bigger so that’s exciting!

We left the store open late and had a lemonade stand out front (more photos and a separate post on that soon). Our sweet friends Jess, her mom, and two girls came to play and hang out with us. I think Sadie and Paisley ate more than they made but they had fun for a solid 20 minutes and decided playing was more fun than selling. :) 13516155_10153550219830685_8110988389389572429_n13528725_10153550220060685_6739850355430524791_nHere is a little snippet video of the girls Friday night.

13495084_10153550221060685_729536164116951386_nI told hubs that farm girl needs this truck to park out front, for shows, and lets face it, just for me to cruise around in. He rolled his eyes and I’m still dreaming about it. Ha!

Saturday was Paisley’s best friend’s 4th fairy birthday! Her mom puts on the cutest parties. We weren’t there 15 minutes and had Scout’s first boo boo (a skinned nose) and Paisley spiked a 102+ fever. Off to the ER we went. Paisley was so upset to leave but she’s had a history of febrile seizures so any sort of temp keeps us on our toes. Her pediatrician says a temp shouldn’t be an issue after six, kids typically grow out of it. But, considering she’s had a febrile seizure with a rapidly temp drop, AND a 101 fever, we don’t play around with it.

I snapped a few shots (and borrowed a few from Shelley) from the party. I wish I would have gotten more. The party was absolutely precious and Tinkerbell even showed up!13495248_1153998047953738_7906388442587235196_n13508901_1153998067953736_149462566228961782_nIMG_6832IMG_6831IMG_6834The kids made their own pixie dust and got their choice of tutu and fairy wings. Tinkerbell came shortly after our lunch and then after we left, Shelley had a fairy garden station where everyone made their own to take home. SO CUTE! 13533077_1153998211287055_5581579670735577709_n13435355_1153998684620341_2579269018090654008_n13516333_1153998427953700_1409008165665653794_n13557773_1153998661287010_8758530317134986741_n IMG_6829Right before the great fall and skinned nose.IMG_6843 IMG_6846Scout fell asleep on the way to the ER so she and I waited in the car while Zack ran Paisley in. She woke shortly after so we played peek-a-boo. Her nose looks great here compared to how it looks now. Sunday morning she looked like Rudolph. It’s blistered, bloody, and scabbed now. I’m applying lavender essential oil and an ointment, while praying it doesn’t scar. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Paisley had a fever until 5 am Sunday morning so needless to say, we had a long night worrying about her. Zack went on shift Sunday morning so we missed church and let her rest all Sunday. She’s back to our Paisley now and I am so thankful for modern medicine. We try to go the natural route when sickness surfaces but sometimes it’s necessary. I am thankful we have access to medical care when in need, especially in scary times like that.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. I am starting to plan our blog posts for July and get back into a blog routine. I’ve missed it and love that I have an outlet to share and write. If you don’t already, follow me on Pinterest! I will be pinning a lot of my projects there and would love for them to be shared. <3
