Today was Paisley’s pajama day at school as well as her show-n-tell. On her “leader day” each month, she gets to lead the class, bring snacks, and bring an item to share with the class. So far we have brought Toy Story Characters each time. I love that she has enjoyed them so much over the last year. I think everyone loved Rex. And why does she look so big here? Paisley with her three besties, Crosby and Kaydence. I think Farm Girl should have PJ days too. :)
I love decorating for Christmas but I love decorating for Fall just as much. Cotton and all things pumpkin have adorned every area of our living room and kitchen and I wish it could stay most of the year. The girls and I planted mums and cabbage this year and added some pretty fairytale pumpkins along with our big orange ones. I love how festive our porch is. We also painted our front door Red! It’s been turquoise for 3 years and just needed a change. I love how bright it is. It only took me two hours from start to finish and I used Junk Gypsy Chalk paint from my store- Farm Girl. Happy Fall, Y’all!
Paisley had her first school project due today and we had a blast making it together. All of the kids at her school are putting together a storybook pumpkin patch at the library. Kids were to transform a pumpkin into one of their favorite book characters. Over the last month, I’ve started to read the Junie B Jones series to Paisley. They were some of the first chapter books I started reading as a little girl and I knew Paisley would love this silly and onrey Kindergarten girl. I was a little worried since they are chapter books and less pictures but she has really enjoyed them and I try to be as animated and “like” Junie as can be.
Since we are really into the series right now, we chose to do Junie from “Junie B. Has a Monster Under Her Bed.” We got together at my parent’s house and since our Grand is in town, she helped us with the project which made this whole night even more fun. Paisley helped me paint the pumpkin and then Grand and Paisley made all of the hair from different colors of yarn. While I hot glued it on, Grand read the book which was too cute while we assembled Junie. We used a combo of Junk Gypsy paint from Farm Girl to do her face. The bow was from a roll of glitter tulle I had laying around the shop.
Paisley was so proud of her and had fun telling her friends all about how Junie thought there was a monster living under her bed in the story. Too cute! A sweet memory I won’t forget. So glad Grand was a part of it.
I loved seeing the photos of so many unique pumpkins in the patch. Being a school mom is the best. Love these memories with my girls.
