I’ve been a little absent from the blog lately due to school. It has been crazy to say the least and I am counting down the days until graduation.
When I decided that I wanted to go to nursing school, I knew that I wanted to be an OB, L + D nurse or at least work in women’s health until I could find a labor and delivery position. We have started our OB rotation for clinicals and have been studying over it during February and now March. I couldn’t be more sure about my future career in obstetrics.
I can’t talk about what goes on due to privacy and HIPPA but I was able to experience my first birth this week. It is such a different experience when it isn’t you. It is one of the most amazing things to watch life being brought into this world.
I am so excited about this journey. I feel like God called me to nursing for a reason and I am already in love with the job that I don’t have yet. I know it sounds silly but it is exciting to me. We are about to begin Pediatric nursing which is my second field of choice and then mental health. The whole month of June we have preceptorship and then graduation at the end of the month. It feels so far away but its just a few more months. Prayers are appreciated for my classmates and I as well as my patient husband. He has helped our family so much during this last year and I appreciate him more than he knows.

So happy you love what you’re doing!!
Thank you friend!!!
That’s so awesome Kenzie. I’m sure you’ll be an awesome L&D nurse!!!
Thank you so much, Sarah!
How wonderful! I love that YOU love this and I know I would love that to! (minus the schooling part haha) My Mom is an RN and many others in my family took the nursing/medical route as well!
It is such an awesome and rewarding profession. The school is rough but worth it in the end. :) Thanks, Jessi!
My mother was an L & D nurse for 10 years. It was the best job she ever had. She loved how rewarding it was. Best of luck to you!
Thank you, Annabelle! :)
Loving what you do makes the biggest difference!

Thanks, Casey! :)
So proud of you!
Thank you, friend! :)
How exciting to be in the delivery room! I’d be crying along with the new parents. :) You’re almost there, friend! Keep up the good work!
Yes! Not much longer! Thanks friend! :)
I love hearing about other people’s journey through nursing school. It’s such a wonderful profession. I had a hard time and first finding my “niche”- I knew I was interested in women’s health, pediatrics, and mental health as well. I finally found a really good mix working as a community health nurse. Good luck to you as you continue your journey! Graduation will be here before you know it!
Thank you so much for your encouragement, Lauren! :) I can’t wait to start practice!
This is awesome! I love to read about people with passion and a calling. I have no doubts that you’re going to make the best nurse!
Thank you so so much Crystal!!!
